Is dental implant surgery painful?
The placement itself is done under local anaesthesia, so you feel pressure but not pain. Most patients describe the discomfort afterwards as milder than a tooth extraction, and it is managed with routine painkillers for two to three days.
How long do dental implants last?
With good oral hygiene and regular six-monthly checkups, implants routinely last 15–25 years or longer. The crown on top may need replacement earlier than the implant itself.
Can I get an implant if I lost the tooth years ago?
Often yes, but long-standing gaps lose bone. If bone height is insufficient we may recommend a bone graft or sinus lift first, which is decided from your CBCT scan.
