Which crown is best — zirconia or metal-ceramic?
Zirconia is metal-free, highly aesthetic and strong, making it the usual choice for front teeth and increasingly for back teeth. Metal-ceramic costs less and remains a durable option for molars where appearance is less critical.
How long does a dental crown last?
A well-fitted crown lasts 10–15 years or more. Lifespan depends less on the crown material than on the health of the tooth and gum underneath it, so regular checkups matter.
